Maggie (A Tales Behind the Veils Novel)

romantic women's fiction, violet howe, chick lit, seasoned romance

The first time Maggie fell in love, it started with a broken toe and ended with a broken heart. At nineteen, she was too naïve to heed the warning signs, and she raced blindly down a path that destroyed her soaring ballet career and pushed her to close herself off to any romantic interest.

Thirty years later, Maggie’s first glimpse of rancher Dax Pearson makes her heart stutter in an all-too-familiar way. This time, she’s determined to keep a tight rein on the impulse to throw away her hard-won independence.

She’s not looking to get herself roped in by a handsome face, but Dax’s winning charm and gentle touch gradually begin to work their magic, and soon Maggie’s tempted to once again attempt the dance of love.

Letting go of the past isn’t easy, though, especially when it has choreographed her life for so long. Breaking free of its familiar rhythm could expose her deepest shame…and shatter her heart beyond repair.

My latest release is a standalone novel in the Tales Behind the Veils series. It features parallel stories of Maggie’s present-day second chance at love set against the backdrop of her disastrous, career-ending first romance.

The Ghost in the Curve, (The Cedar Creek Series)

The Ghost in the Curve, Violet Howe, Romantic Suspense, The Cedar Creek Series

Sloane Reid has never believed in ghosts, but when she meets Chelsea, she has to question what’s real. Especially when Chelsea reveals the secret she’s carried for thirteen years—that her baby brother did not die with her as the world believes.

If Sloane can convince local deputy Tristan that she’s not crazy, they may be able to find Chelsea’s brother and a chance at love. But as Sloane begins to unlock the mystery of the past, it may be her own life that needs saving.

My latest release is a romantic suspense with a paranormal element. It has mystery, romance, humor, a little steam, and a teenage ghost! It is not a scary story. It just happens to have a character who is a ghost. Readers are loving it so far, and several have told me they couldn’t put it down!

Diary of a Single Wedding Planner, Vol 1 in Tales Behind the Veils Series

Diary of a Single Wedding PlannerWedding planner Tyler Warren left heartbreak behind when she ran away from her small Southern hometown and started a new life in a big city. Years later, she wants to believe in the fairy-tale endings her job promotes, but the clients she meets day after day seem to be more “Crazily Ever After” than “Happily Ever After.”

Meanwhile, her own attempts at romance play out as bizarre comedies rather than love stories, and she’s starting to think Prince Charming either fell off his horse or got eaten by a dragon. When unresolved issues from Tyler’s past complicate things even further, she discovers she may yet have some things to figure out before she can find her own happy ending.

This delightful first book in the Tales Behind the Veils series chronicles Tyler’s wacky misadventures, both personal and professional.  Whether she’s getting insane requests from brides or outlandish requests on dates, you’re sure to be charmed and entertained by the Diary of a Single Wedding Planner.

Diary of a Wedding Planner in Love, Vol 2 in Tales Behind the Veils Series

Diary of a Wedding Planner in Love, Tales Behind the Veils Series, Violet HoweWedding planner Tyler Warren thought she’d found The One, and she couldn’t wait to live out her fairy tale. But Tyler was about to discover a lot can happen between Once Upon A Time and Happily Ever After.

Sometimes modern-day princes have inner dragons to battle, and when issues from the past threaten to end their relationship before it really begins, Tyler starts to question whether their love story is real. But the biggest test for Tyler may be the arrival of a handsome new prince, ready to step in and steal her heart forever.

This second volume in the Tales Behind the Veils series picks up where Diary of a Single Wedding Planner ended, but Tyler’s personal drama dampens her enthusiasm for her crazy wedding clients. As she travels down the sometimes treacherous path of romance, Tyler finds that being a wedding planner in love isn’t always the easiest job to have!

So for those of you who just couldn’t wait to find out what happened to Tyler after the clock struck midnight, book two is available in paperback or ebook on Amazon!

Diary of an Engaged Wedding Planner, Vol 3 in Tales Behind the Veils Series

Diary of an Engaged Wedding Planner, Violet Howe, Tales Behind the Veils series, chick lit, romance

Tyler felt like the luckiest girl alive when her very own Prince Charming proposed. Her euphoria was short-lived, however. Before long, she was wishing she could skip right over the fairy tale wedding and go straight to the happily ever after.

In her job as a wedding planner, Tyler has grown accustomed to dealing with demanding brides and their challenging family members. But nothing in her career prepared her for dealing with the most difficult Mother of the Bride she’s never encountered–her own mama. It doesn’t take long for Tyler to decide her best wedding option may be to elope.

The third volume in the Tales Behind the Veils series follows Tyler’s hilarious efforts to rein in Mama as they both plan the same wedding with very different visions. It’s enough to make an engaged wedding planner feel sympathy for bridezillas, even as she struggles not to become one.

If you’re ready to follow Tyler’s wedding plans for her own big event, order book three in paperback or ebook on Amazon today!

I just finished reading the 1st Diary of a Wedding planner and I loved it! Each chapter could stand alone as a reflection on love, marriage, life…I took a writing class recently and I belie e each h chapter of Tyler’s story is a great illustration of a “personal essay” – something I struggled writing . I’m that ful to have read this book for more reason s than that. Love the story and how funny it was. I’m. 55 and have been married 32 years. The words you wrote for the woman at the final wedding that were a rebuttals of “happily ever after” we’re right on the money. I also recognized myself in the words of Tyler’s mother, unfortunately! I heard my own daughter’s words when Tyler ALMOST said,”and you wonder why I never tell you anything!” Thank you so much for writing such a perceptive book without any cursing or descriptions of sex, as well. I can’t wait to read the next two books and I think I will enjoy your ghost stories, too! — Eve I.

Hi Eve! Just seeing this comment as it was routed to a folder I didn’t know about, but thank you so much for your words. I am so happy you enjoyed Diary of a Single Wedding Planner, and that you found it something you could relate to. I hope you’ve had a chance to read the others in the series, and I’m curious if you did find The Ghost in the Curve to your liking as well. And congratulations on 32 years of marriage! That is quite an accomplishment, especially since life is much harder than the fairy tales we read about!

What do you think about it?
