Gobble, Gobble: Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Posted by on November 22, 2012
Happy Thanksgiving!  I was somewhat of a picky eater as a kid, and I always loved Thanksgiving because it was one of the few meals where I absolutely loved the entire menu!! (Luckily, I discovered when I left my small country town that I am not really a picky eater!  I eat Indian, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican, Greek, Lebanese, Italian, French, German, Caribbean, etc.  And I am pretty much open to trying any type of food.  It turns out that I just don't like Southern food!) But Thanksgiving is still a favorite menu for me.  Different people have different ideas of the perfect Thanksgiving meal.  Some do lasagna, some do steak.  Ours is the traditional:  turkey, ham, dressing, sweet potato casserole, ambrosia, cranberry sauce, green beans and then pecan pie for dessert-- yummy! And who wouldn't love a holiday that encourages everyone to take an inventory, think about their blessings, and be thankful?  And it doesn't require you to buy anyone any gifts! Sweet! So wherever you are today, and whatever menu you choose to eat, I hope you are happy and surrounded with love.  I hope you have many things in life that you are thankful for.  As for me, I am blessed beyond measure.  I am thankful for my amazing husband, my awesome son, and my incredible family and friends.  I am thankful for this fantastic new career adventure, and I am thankful for each and every one of you reading this and supporting my efforts.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Great post. Great day. Great food.

Great pics Leslie. Remember the definition of “forever” is a 20lb turkey and only two people to eat it. That is why I smoked a whole fryer using the beer can chicken method.

I am always amazed at u as a person..you always give of yourself, your many accomplishments, your travels, and your very diverse interests…however this one time I am thoroughly disappointed..I might even question our friendship. you seriously don’t like deviled eggs? I’m not certain I can come to terms with this…but I will give it time ;). Hope u had a blessed Thanksgiving.

For you, my friend, I would try to eat them. Do they serve those in Mexico???

Well, I’m glad we had at least one meal besides pizza that you enjoyed.

What do you think about it?
